Marianne Long age 80 of Centralia died peacefully on Friday March 1, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia surrounded by family and friends.
Mrs. Long was born on December 19, 1932 in Dewitt, MO the daughter of Roy & C. Flosie (Phelps) Baker. She married Jackie Long on August 13, 1954 in Lakehurst, N.J. and he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Long is survived by one son Bruce Long and wife Elizabeth Jean of Indianapolis; one daughter Pamela Logullo and husband Richard of Centralia; seven grandchildren Michael Long and wife Elizabeth Alta, Nicole Holland and husband Marcus, Sandi Sipe and husband Nathan, Taylor Logullo, Jeff Logullo, Karen Bader, and Jon Logullo; three great-grandchildren Jack Long, Max Long, and Olivia Ann Sipe; and two sisters Darlene Smithhart, and Nadine Reasons. Special friends Wayne and LuAnn Grote; Jordan Feig; Dick, Judy and Tammy Truitt; Theresa Williams; Pat Dickson and Teresa Shafram.
Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Mrs. Long enjoyed dancing, traveling, shopping for clothes and shoes, creating her artwork, but most of all she treasured the time spent with her family and her friends. Mrs. Long was a member of Demaree United Methodist Church and the Lady Elks. She was retired from the Illinois Department of Employment Security after 23 years.
Funeral services for Mrs. Long will be held on Tuesday March 5, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home with Father Justin Olisaemeka officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Those unable to attend services on Tuesday are invited to Pamela’s Home on Monday evening from 6:00 PM-8:00PM to visit with the family.
