Mary J. Scheidt, 82, of Centralia died Monday, March 4, 2013, at her home. She was born Dec. 22, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of Joseph and Catherine (Poggioli) Frigerio. She married Charles Leonard Scheidt, and he preceded her in death after 59 years of marriage. Mrs. Scheidt is survived by two daughters, Anna Kelley and husband Greg of Goreville, and Teresa Burdin and husband Tony of Carterville; a son, Alan Scheidt and wife Michelle of Centralia; two grandchildren, Bailey Shafer and husband Dominic, and Ryan Scheidt, all of Centralia; a great-grandchild, Roman Shafer of Centralia; a sister, Helen Librizzi and husband Joseph of Levittown, N.Y.; a close friend and cousin, John Pogolli of Goreville; a niece, Maria Morra of Levittown, N.Y.; and a nephew, Anthony Librizzi of North Merrick, N.Y. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Catherine Ann Scheidt; a son, Joseph Leonard Scheidt; and a sister, Teresa Lisio. Mrs. Scheidt was retired from Big 3 Precision Products Inc. and was a member of the Catholic church. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Centralia with Fr. Justin Olisaemeka officiating. Graveside services will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Centralia. Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia is in charge of arrangements.
