Cletus “Jack” Feig, Sr. 85, a caring and loving husband and father, grand-father and great-grandfather passed away on February 19th, 2013 at his home with his wife of 67 years and his children at his side.
He was born on August 15, 1927 in Caseyville, IL, son of George and Catherine Feig. He married Cleo M. Guisgond on November 24th, 1945 at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Collinsville, IL and she survives in Centralia.
In August of 1964 the family moved to Centralia. He was transferred from Granite City, IL to become general manager of Vesci Falstaff Dist. In 1975 he started Feig Sign Company retiring in 1989.
Mr. Feig was a faithful member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Centralia serving on the Church Council and Property Committee for many years.
He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and especially family gatherings. You could always find him and Cleo most mornings at McDonald’s for coffee with friends and family.
Survivors include one brother, Melvin Feig, two sisters Dorothy Mueller and Evelyn Ferrero, and one sister-in-law Minnie Feig. In addition he is survived by his children; Susan White and husband Jim, Cletus Feig Jr. and wife Laura, Carol Flanigan, Tom Feig and wife Jan, and Bob Feig and wife April. Grandchildren: Lori Aud, Chris Feig and wife Tracie, Lisa Lamar and husband Jimmy, Kevin Flanigan and wife Joni, Jenny Simonton and husband Lyle, Andy Feig and wife Kristina, Adam Feig and wife Kristen, Aaron Feig and fiancée Teri Lynn MacZura, and Amber Feig. Great-grandchildren: Aimee and Haley Aud, Jordan and Jessica Feig, Katie Wiles, Trenton and Savannah Lamar, Marissa and Marcus Flanigan, Will and Sydney Simonton, Cameron Feig, Audrey Feig, and Preston and Sienna Feig.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Feig was preceded in death by three brothers; William Feig, Morris Feig and Norman Feig, and two son-in-laws, Richard Forehand and Warren Flanigan.
Services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home with Jim White officiating. Friends may call Friday from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home and Saturday at 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
